At the Kither wedding in Danville, CA when Phil crashed the wedding as Christopher Scanlon's plus one. Phil used some of his smoothest tactics to impress Caryn, including some savage dance moves and sharp one-liners. Caryn's recollection is slightly different but either way, by the end of the night they ended up exchanging email addresses (Caryn's way of saying, don't call me) and the rest was history!

After a year and a half of flights back and forth from the greatest city in the world to San Francisco and strangely, despite it's charming seasons and good-looking locals, Manchester was deemed inferior to the incessant sunshine and the insanely optimistic people of Northern California. Phil and Caryn currently live with their dog Charlie, in Napa, around an hour north east of San Francisco and home to a host of great restaurants and wineries. Despite it's new world tag and the odd buttery Chardonnay, the wine is actually okay!

Phil and Caryn knew very early on that they'd found something very special. Phil held off for as long as he could, friends talking him out of proposing after only his second visit. He finally plucked up the courage in November 2016 and given Caryn's penchant for happy hours, live music and cocktails, Phil decided to propose in the gardens of her favorite bar and restaurant, Farmstead. Phil's parents were on hand with a bottle of reasonably priced bubbles and the day drinking began!
