We're getting married!

We are both volunteer firefighters in neighboring towns and met through mutual friends. After seeing each other on calls and at the firehouse multiple times, we got up the courage to talk to each other at a firehouse fundraiser. Our first date consisted of 8 different adventures because he did not want me to go home. That was when we decided to keep the adventure going...

For weeks, Mike hinted at having a surprise for me and said we had to go somewhere. On St. Patrick's Day, Mike packed me up in the car, turned to me and said, "Are you ready?" to which I said yes. He handed me a book titled "My Reasons Why" and told me to start reading. He turned on the radio and the song "Marry You" by Bruno Mars started playing. At that point, I started thinking to myself, "OMG It's happening". We drove around as I read the beautiful book Mike made for me and listened to the playlist of songs he created for this adventure. I got to one page that screamed, "STOP! Put your blindfold on." He handed me a blindfold and I tied it around my head. We reached our destination and he got out of the truck. Mike helped me out of my seat and guided me. He then told me I could take off my blindfold. I took it off and realized that there were about thirty friends and family members standing around us with smiles on their face. Mike handed me the book back and instructed to finish reading the book. I read the pages aloud. "I would do anything for you." "I love that you still give me butterflies" "Will you marry me?" I looked up and he was on his knee and was all choked up as he managed to get out the words "Will you marry me?" I choked out a YES! and started crying and he slipped the ring on my finger, a perfect fit. We are so excited to start a brand new adventure together and can't wait for you to be a part of our beginning!
