FAQs

Question

How/when did you meet?

Answer

We met up with mutual friends for dinner in December of 2020. Britt lived in Florida at the time but was home visiting her family. Thanks to Justin’s witty humor, we became fast friends!

Question

When did you start dating?

Answer

Shortly after Britt moved back to Ohio, our first date was on July 15, 2021. The date started with brunch at Butter Cafe (Britt loves their vegan options) & ended with a stroll through Carillon Park. We’ve been together ever since!

Question

Will there be a wedding?

Answer

Our original wedding date was set for July 8, 2023. However, we decided on an intimate courthouse ceremony on November 15, 2022. We thought it’d be best to take the money we planned to spend on our wedding & use that towards a trip across Europe. We love to travel & knew this experience would be once in a lifetime!

Question

Where do you live?

Answer

We moved into a beautifully renovated ranch-style home in Kettering, Ohio on August 26, 2022. It’s close by to the majority of our family and friends and we couldn’t be happier with it! We currently live with our cat, Millie & various foster cats & kittens. We can’t wait to see our family keep growing!

Question

How did he propose?

Answer

On our anniversary, we decided to go celebrate at a restaurant we enjoy (China Dynasty in Centerville). We got dressed up and had a great dinner. Afterwards, Justin suggested we go for a walk at Cox Arboretum. Our first one-on-one time at the beginning of our relationship was a walk at Cox Arboretum so Justin thought it would be appropriate to celebrate our anniversary there. Britt was happy to go but wanted to go change into more walk-appropriate clothing and Justin had to convince Britt that what she was wearing was fine. As we pulled into the parking lot, it started to sprinkle and Justin began to worry that his plan was going to be washed away but he insisted they just take their walk. Through the rain drops, we made our way to a small landing next to a pond with a marble bench. Britt didn’t know that Justin had been there earlier that morning, practicing how the next few minutes were going to play out (he had taped a note under the bench to document him being there early to practice). After sitting on the bench and talking for a few moments, Justin asked Britt to stand up and as she stood, he took a knee. All day long, Justin had scoffed at people who said they were nervous leading up to the proposal. He was super cool and collected. . .until this moment. As Justin took his knee, his mind went blank but, according to Britt, he did manage to say “will you be my wife”? Britt said yes and the celebration began. We were so eager to celebrate, that we got back to the car and realized we had taken no pictures and Justin discovered he never finished his proposal with the intended “will you marry me”? We went back to the spot and took some pictures and Justin confirmed that Britt was agreeing to marry him.
