We met in business management class in high school but didn't start dating until after Karl graduated in 2008. Since I was still in my senior year of high school and Karl had graduated, I was the one to ask him to go to my senior prom with me. When we first started dating, Karl introduced me to disc golfing and taught me how to play. We have been disc golfing together ever since and he is always teaching me new techniques and ways to improve. Over the last 10+ years we have been through so much together. Job changes, life events, moving to Stevens Point in 2015, and countless moves since moving to Point. The sudden move to Stevens Point was a huge test and challenged us, but we have become a stronger couple from it. We have learned so much about each other over the last decade and continue to learn more each day. We are excited to see what the next chapters in our life bring!
We made our usual trip back to Eau Claire for Christmas to spend time with our families. Karl had made plans with his friend Joe and I had made plans with my friend Bailey. I had Karl drop me off at Bailey's before he went to Joe's, which at the time I didn't realize was putting a kink in Karl's proposal plans. After hanging out with Bailey for awhile Karl came to pick me up and he took me to see the lights at Phoenix Park. We walked through the park for a bit and after I took some pictures and videos, he got down on one knee and proposed! I said YES! We had designed my engagement ring together in Stevens Point so I knew the proposal was coming, but wasn't sure when. Karl had Joe hiding in the bushes with his camera to capture the proposal.
After our proposal we both decided that we wanted to have a Fall wedding but knew that having it in the Fall of 2019 was going to be a bit of a time crunch. I was looking through my planner at future dates for our wedding and found that Halloween, my FAVORITE holiday was going to fall on a Saturday in 2020. That's it! We are so excited to plan our Hallowedding and cannot wait to celebrate with everyone!
