Danielle and Austin met at a young adults group at Eastview Christian Church. The group met every week, started with a large group message, and split into smaller groups. Danielle and Austin ended up in the same small group because of a mutual friend. But the two didn’t talk until several meetings later. After a few weeks, Austin introduced himself to Danielle after their group meeting. They enjoyed getting to know each other better while sharing jokes and sarcasm. At one point, Danielle made her way out the door to get to her car. Even though it was a chilly and icy winter night, that didn’t stop Austin from running on the ice to catch up with Danielle. The two exchanged phone numbers so there could be a group hangout in the near future. The group hangout ended up being their first date to Moe’s instead. The meal wasn’t long enough to get to know each other, so they continued talking in Austin’s car for a couple more hours. This was the first of many car talks where they got to learn more about each other. Car talks transitioned into dates and eventually they found themselves spending most evenings in one another’s company. The girls accepted Austin into their house, and Austin got to live out his dream of singing Disney songs somewhere other than his own car. Austin proposed on August 6th with the help of his family for the set up and pictures. Danielle’s dad, who lives out of state, was able to be present for the engagement as well. Danielle and Austin are excited to celebrate with close friends and family as they become one family in November.
