Please look up Muffaletta's, Sparky's Garage, Papa T's, La Fiesta Mexicana - The Taco Bus, The Branding Iron BBQ, or the Pita Pit. Dillon also has a few other steak houses, pizza joints, fast food chains, and a grocery store on either end of town.
Dillon is small, and there isn't a ton here, but there are a few places we love. All on Idaho Street, you can find a charming bookstore, yarn shop, quilt shop, and the Patagonia Outlet store. For coffee or tea, we love the Sweetwater Cafe. In the same neighborhood, just up a block or two, find charming gifts and such at Wildwood Floral and Gifts, delicious lunch at Muffaletta's, or enjoy a drink from Beaverhead Brewing or the Metlen Hotel bar.
We LOVE Butte, America. It's easy to be aghast at this place with only a quick passing through, especially seeing the infamous Berkeley Pit for the first time, but Butte is a rich and interesting place. We'd recommend any of the historical walking tours of Butte. Check out the website here for more information.
We went here on what we have officially dubbed "Blue Bird Day" among personal holidays. One of Montana's first working, gold-mining, boom towns in Montana, it's a well preserved little ghost town and a charming setting for a picnic.
Known for the mountains it's named for, a trip to Montana should include a good hike. Find lots of area recommendations for southwest Montana and the visitmt page listed here!
Located about 40 miles from Dillon in the beautiful Pioneer Mountains, Elkhorn is a family run Hotsprings pool and lodge. Just a soak will run you $7/adult.
Consider a visit to living ghost town, Virginia City. It's nestled in the beautiful Ruby Mountains an hour's drive from Dillon.
One of our early dates was here, on our way home from our first visit to the Ranch together. Norris Hotsprings is a nice pool, with live music on weekend evenings, and is known for its delicious food made from locally grown ingredients. Lodging is available in the form of camp spaces for tents or RVs only. Just a soak will run you $8/adult, less for seniors and young children.
From Dillon, you'll be just 3.5 hours from America's first National Park via the West Yellowstone Gateway. It's seriously as spectacular as it's made out to be.
