Peter likes to say that we met at a bar, which is only half true. ;) During the summer of 2019, Kelly and Peter both found themselves beertending at Third Space Brewing, a fan favorite here in Milwaukee. Kelly remembers becoming fast friends with Peter, especially when he agreed to dress up for Halloween at work. He stayed true to his word (cowboy hat and all), only later to earn the nickname “Howdy” (thanks, Stacy). In November, they were both en route home from the northwoods and Peter worked up the courage to ask Kelly if she wanted to grab a beer at his favorite dive bar in his college town, Eau Claire. Shortly after they clinked their PBRs for a toast, the bartender warned them of an impending snow storm, which led to adventurous interstate detours like the Norske Nook in Osseo. By spring, Kelly was regularly driving to Muskego to visit Peter on the hobby farm where he was living. They started going on lots of hikes, making terrariums and enjoying nature together. Peter taught Kelly the art of birdwatching (a bird heard is a bird seen!) and in return, Kelly introduced Peter to tiki cocktails. :) Soon, they both soon discovered their shared love for live music, drive-in movies and spooky season. Several grad school projects and taco Tuesdays later…Kelly and Peter have really settled into their cozy Tosa neighborhood over the past few years. They enjoy golden hours on nearby trails and volunteering for CreativeMornings, a monthly lecture series for the creative community. Last fall, Peter took Kelly to Matrimony Springs right outside Arches National Park in Utah, where legend has it: if you give someone water from the spring, they’ll love you forever. Peter filled his water bottle to the brim, Kelly took a big swig and…the rest is history. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!!
