There are several ways to get to the island, and on summer weekends you can expect to be in good company on your way here. It will all be worth it (we promise!) once you get here and breathe in the serenity and beauty of this place. The fastest way to our house from Seattle is the ferry from Mukilteo to Clinton. Our house is located on Crawford Road about 10 minutes from the Clinton ferry terminal. We ask that if you drive that you park at the Bayview Park & Ride, where we will have a shuttle waiting. If you are able to, we highly recommend walking onto the ferry as walkers have priority. See the ferry notes for more information.

Flight

SEA

SEATAC (SEA) is Seattle's major airport and has flights to most major airports in the U.S. It is located about a 30 min drive south of the city by car. There is public transportation by bus and train (light rail) directly from the airport into Seattle.

Flight

PAE

Paine Field is 45-50 minutes from our house, and for those who are able to fly in/out of PAE, we highly recommend it. It's a much smaller airport and has only a limited set of flights, but the experience is much more pleasant and the lines are much shorter.

Travel Note

Whidbey - Seatac Shuttle

This shuttle runs every two hours directly from Seatac Airport to Whidbey Island. It will drop you off within walking distance of our house, but we will also arrange a shuttle from one of its regular stops to our events.

Travel Note

Whidbey Island Buses

Our buses on the island are free, and it's possible to get to lots of great places on the bus, including our house! You can catch the 1N line from the ferry dropoff, and ask to be dropped off at Crawford Road. They will let you off right near our house, about a 5-minute walk away.

Travel Note

Mukilteo-Clinton Ferry

The ferry from mainland to Whidbey leaves from Mukilteo every 30 minutes. If you walk or bike onto the ferry you get priority, which is a great way to avoid the long lines for cars. In the summer, Friday evenings and Saturday mornings can result in 2-hour waits to get onto the ferry going to the island. On Sundays, getting off the island can take just as long. For those of you flying, it's important to take this into account when making travel plans. Once on the island, it's easy to get to our house! We are a 10 minute drive from the ferry dock. There are free buses, and we will most likely be running a shuttle to our house. Note: If you are driving and there is a line, be sure to find the end of the line and take care not to cut the line - otherwise you will most likely be reported and not be let on the ferry.
