In November 2015, Taylor walked into the machine room of Sound Lounge to be introduced to her new co-worker (me, Pete). Unbeknownst to the both of us, this was a moment that would ultimately change our lives forever. At first, we just talked when we needed things from each other, attended meetings together, and exchanged morning pleasantries over bagels in the office. Pretty regular co-worker stuff. Throughout the next four years as we got to know each other, our relationship grew from co-workers to friends. And then, our friendship had slowly turned into a bit of a crush that I had on her. I would find every chance to help Taylor in any way, and I could always be found in her office talking to her about anything and everything.
On December 26, 2022, it was a cold day in Florida, as we headed to the Manatee Lagoon. I didn't have a solid plan, but I had decided that would be the perfect spot to propose. It was packed, so I was a little nervous about that, but I found a secluded path. As we walked, I counted in my head… 3…2…1… and turned to her, got on one knee, and said “Taylor….” I saw the utter shock on Taylor's face, which made me so happy. I hope I said some very sweet things and told Taylor how much she meant to me and how happy she’s made me, but we both completely blacked out. It's been confirmed I asked her to marry me though, and she said yes!
