Live Stream

at live.peteandlo.com

There are oh so many of our friends and family who we wanted to see at our wedding, but who won't be able to make it for one reason or another. In order to still share our big moment with everyone we love who's stuck at home, work, or elsewhere, we're planning to record the entire ceremony and (if technology comes through) we'll also stream it in real time! To tune in, navigate to live.peteandlo.com a little before 3pm this Saturday (September 10th) and then keep the page open. As soon as we start broadcasting, the stream will start automatically! If you come by a bit later on, we'll have the recording up at that same address — and there's already a digital guest book, in case you'd care to leave us a note or story or word of advice. Troubleshooting tip: There's a chance the stream will get interrupted and we'll have to restart it mid-event. If that happens, as soon as we come back you'll see a red "LIVE NOW" button. Just click there and you'll be with us again.

Covid-19 protocols

(yes, it's still a pandemic)

We are beyond excited to celebrate with you! Please be aware that some of our other guests will be immunocompromised (including Pete!), too young for vaccination (like our brand-new niece and nephew), or otherwise at risk of severe illness. Our reception venue has an HVAC system and a wall that opens to the outside to maximize ventilation, but you can take some extra steps — starting NOW — to help us safeguard the health and wellness of all our loved ones. • If you’re eligible for any vaccines or boosters, please get them as soon as possible so you can be at peak immunity by September 10th. If you can’t, we ask that you remain masked during the ceremony and reception except when eating and drinking. • If you’re flying to get here, please test for Covid after you arrive in Portland. If you need a rapid test, please let us know — we have enough to share. Better yet, PCR tests can be scheduled in advance at ZoomCare or through Curative.com. • If you are feeling at all under-the-weather or suspect you’ve been exposed to any communicable disease, please reconsider attending. It’s never fun to cancel a flight or accommodations, but it’s also no fun to be sick away from home and comfort — or to cause that for others. The ceremony will be live-streamed, so check our website for the link!

What to expect from our ceremony and reception:

Lots and lots of ugly-happy weeping from Lauren. AND…

We will be having an interfaith ceremony, recognizing facets and traditions from Pete and Lauren’s respective heritages and shared love of nature and art. Officiated by Teressa Chizeck, our dear friend and a mentor of Pete’s, the ceremony will include live music, readings by loved ones, and more. The ceremony will be held outdoors, on the patio of our reception venue, which features ample free street parking, restrooms, and everything you’d expect from a nice local restaurant. Seating will be limited, so we hope that most guests will stand for our 15-20 minute ceremony. If you need a seat held for you, however, just let us know. Rather than a sit-down dinner, our reception will be “New-Orleans/Bayou-style” in honor of Lauren’s paternal Grandparents, Royal and Jenny V. Modica. Picture scattered stations featuring multiple rounds of antipasti, pizza, meatballs, arancini, salads, and more, with scattered tables and chairs for organic, intimate mingling and conversation. The food will be plentiful, so do bring your appetite. We’ll have options for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and low-carb diets. If you have other restrictions, please let us know so we can better accommodate you. Drink service is a hybrid Cash/Open Bar – we will be covering all non-alcoholic beverages, curated mocktails, coffee, tea, and sodas. There will also be a complimentary champagne toast. Aside from that, all alcoholic beverages will be cash-only. Dancing, dancing, dancing! Thanks in advance to our handsome DJ, Patrick; our ceremony musicians, Shera Sinell and Andrew Ehrlich; and a Klezmer band for the traditional Hora dance — brought to you by Pete’s parents, Judi and Marty Soloway. Feel free to prepare a toast in advance — or just improvise!

Community vows

You'll be invited not just to witness our ceremony but to participate by affirming these words:

Through this union, we join together as Pete and Lauren’s community. We vow to support this union: To help Pete and Lauren when they need help. To give them honest counsel. To support their growth as individuals, as a couple, and as a family. To celebrate with them in times of joy. To comfort them in times of struggle. To hold them, and hold them to the promises they are making today.
