We met technically in August of 2019, we were both attending Yuba College and had the same health class. It wasn’t until the end of the semester that Jacob decided to send me (Crystal) a message asking me on a date once we got done with our finals.
For our first date Jacob drove us to the Roseville/ Rocklin area to see the Christmas lights, It was a cold December night but we walked the few blocks of houses decorated for Christmas, grabbed some hot chocolate and shared good conversation.
That would be me, Crystal, Jacob and I had spent the day together. Getting lunch at Carlitos then went to Roseville, even going to sun splash arcade and spending the day there. While dropping him off at home he was being funny with a toy bow and arrow we won in the arcade. Mid laughing the words slipped out making us both freeze. He happily accepted my words and a few weeks later he told me he loved me too.
Jacob and I had gone to San Francisco with our two best friends Jenny and Jeff Hyatt. As far as I knew we were just going to all spend time together and get out of town. My only goal was to go to the beach. We spent time shopping, eating sushi, going to the wax museum and Ripley’s Believe it or not museum. Jenny and Jeff knew what Jacob had planned that day, I was completely oblivious to their plans, so we eventually made our way to Ocean Beach and despite the cold we walked toward the water. Jennifer offered to take our picture and little did I know she was recording. After what I assumed was a few pictures I walked toward Jenny to get my phone only for her and Jeff to be smiling wide looking behind me. I turned around seeing Jacob holding a small blue box, getting down on one knee and I immediately started crying tears of joy. The happiest and easiest yes of my life.
