Flight
There are three international airports close to/in Hangzhou. The first two, PVG and SHA are in Shanghai, and the fastest way to get to the destination from these two are high speed trains. One hour train ride and you'll be in Hangzhou. If you land at HGH, using the local rideshare app, Didi (English version) is the best option. It's about 18 miles, 45 min ride. You could also take the subway which will take about 30 mins.
Travel Note
Luckily enough, starting this summer, China has a 144-hour transit visa for those who are getting from Region A, stopping in mainland China for up to 6 days(144hrs), and go to region B. This region B could be anywhere outside of mainland China, so Hongkong, Taiwan, Macau, etc, are all sufficient for this visa-free transit.
