Christy and Kyle met at a Freshman Year Welcome Fair in September 2013. Soon after they learned they would share an Anthropology 101 class together.
After years of late night studying, movies in the summer, and back and forth hang outs in Annandale and Manasas, Kyle and Christy finally confessed their feels for one another the week before Christy transferred to Marymount University.
Christy and Kyle went on their first date in January 2016. They went to the Smithsonian Zoo to visit the new baby panda, Bei Bei! After they ooh’d and aww’d at Bei Bei, they got lunch at The Diner. After that, they knew it was real and decided to become a couple.
In our spare time we love to sleep in, hang out with our friends, play board games, eat breakfast food, hike, go on road trips, see movies, play video games, cook, and explore various national and state parks. Our favorite fandoms are Sailor Moon (Christy) and Star Wars (Kyle).
After celebrating their 6 year anniversary at Karma Indian Restaurant, Kyle and Christy went on a walk through the monuments at night: an activity they always loved to do in college. They took a detour through the DC war memorial, a favorite spot for the two. After a gentle dance and some kind reminiscing, Kyle got down on one knee and asked Christy to marry him. She said yes! Not only was the proposal romantic, sweet and perfect, but the entire proposal was caught on film by Christy’s friend (and wedding photographer), Emily Ott! Christy and Kyle cannot wait to celebrate their special day with all of their guests.
