Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes. There are two events taking place in the area on the same weekend as the wedding: The National Speech and Debate Tournament & the Summer NASCAR Weekend at the Iowa Speedway. Both of these events will lead to increased traffic and decreased hotel room availability in the area.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

In short, every guest who is ***not*** staying at the West Des Moines Marriott will be responsible for transporting themselves to/from the wedding. All guests are encouraged to be safe and utilize rideshare services in the area if the need arises!

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. The bride & groom ask that guests dress in a semi-formal manner appropriate for summer. For gentlemen, this means dress pants, dress shoes and a dress shirt. Guys can add a blazer and/or tie if they'd like, but can also feel free to ditch them quickly given the likely heat. For ladies, this means a cocktail dress or midi dress.
