Yes and no. Pooja and Bea were symbolically married through a handfasting ceremony - a Pagan ritual in which the couple literally ties the knot and states vows they will renew yearly. While they are married in the eyes of the desert, they would like to be married in front of the people that mean the most to them (that's YOU!) with the traditions that have shaped their lives.
Yes, we'd like to keep our celebration intimate and appreciate your understanding that children are not invited.
Not exactly. Bea and Pooja will be getting married with a blend of customs, rituals, and activities that are meaningful to them, including a Hindu ceremony which reflects Pooja’s Sindhi roots, a rustic barn inspired by Bea’s love of the outdoors, and their mutual appreciation of quality time playing games with friends and family.
While most of the events request formal or semi-formal attire, we want you to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in, whether that’s a dress, a sari, a tuxedo, or a Halloween costume.
White Wedding Wednesday is a Burning Man tradition in which everyone, regardless of gender, wears a wedding dress to the event. In our version of this event, we’re asking you to wear white to our Farewell Surprise and be prepared for some good (un)clean fun! While wedding dresses are appreciated, we encourage you to have fun with your wardrobe :)
