During nursing school, Payton met one of her very best friends Shanna Chambers. The pair actually didn't interact much during the first half of nursing school...Suppose they were intimated by each other ;) Payton and Shanna ended up in the same group for a project or skill check-offs, this is where their friendship really blossomed. Payton was going through some rough times and Shanna told her "I have the perfect guy for you." Shanna's significant other Nick Clement is best friends with this "perfect guy" Shanna kept referring to. Shanna's sent Payton his Snapchat username, and Garrett and Payton began talking here and there. Payton actually canceled their first "date" because she wasn't too sure of Garrett quite yet! Luckily she finally gave in and went to Lincoln to their first date at HuHot. Little did Garrett know, Payton hates any Mongolian/Chinese/Asian food, LOL! Despite the poor food choice, Payton and Garret hit it off after RoundOne where they played some arcade games. The rest was history!

Garrett finally popped the questions while wandering Vala's Pumpkin Patch. It was a warm and dusty day for early October. Payton was ready for the day to be over....hot, sweaty, and filthy until she turned around and Garrett was down on one knee. Payton did not want the day to end, after this. BEST. DAY.EVER
