They grew up in neighboring towns with multiple mutual friends in common, but didn't meet one another until they both decided to attend College in Florida. They met freshman year at a "DayGlow" concert at Alico Arena when one of the bridesmaids (we won't say who) got very drunk and needed a little help. The Groom's Fraternity (Pi Kappa Alpha) were the ones to help, and introduced the two "NY/NJ" Freshman. They remained friends for a year and a half- until they decided they wanted to be more than "Just Friends". The two have been inseparable ever since! Over 8 years later...... and now they're getting Hitched!!!!
Backstory: In college (FL) the bride and groom made trips to see their grandparents as much as possible, which they called " Grandparent weekends". -Monthly they would go to the bride's grandparents, and on the way back to college stop at the Groom's grandparents. The Bride’s grandparents lived near the bay, and often would fish with her grandfather on the wooden docks, it was something the two looked forward to on these weekends. A very beautiful and comforting place filled with loving memories. Dec/January 2019: The Bride's grandmother bought the family a cruise to Cozumel Mexico for her 75th birthday. The cruise was out of Florida, so the family flew down to Gram's FL condo a few days prior to the cruise departure. The night before the cruise, the bride was told that a couple who lived within Gram's condo complex was having a 40th anniversary party. - The bride had no idea what was ACTUALLY to be celebrated that evening. Prior to heading down to the party, the bride was talked into to taking sunset pictures on the docks over the bay. Once the two stepped foot on the docks, the groom began to talk about the memories there with their passed loved ones, and how sentimental this spot is for them. He said that this was the perfect place to say what he wanted to say... Then he got down on one knee and PROPOSED! She said yes! Then she realized that the "40th anniversary Party" going on by the pool behind her, was actually the condo complex along with the rest of the family celebrating their engagement! Next...Off to Mexico!
