Lisa went to go mark matric papers at Ligbron high school at the end of 2021. Without knowing it at the time, she met her future mother in law. Mom Trinka told Lisa from day one at the marking center that she is going to marry her son, Paul, because this is what God intended and what He had told her. Lisa, feeling very uncomfortable and confused, laughed it off and finished marking. Meanwhile, Mom Trinka starting scheming on how these two could meet. She bought Lisa a Christmas gift. On 28 January 2021, Mom Trinka became too "ill" to deliver the gift, so she sent her son in her place to deliver it. Lisa had been in Secunda at the time for an athletics meeting at the Secunda stadium. "I will deliver the gift", Paul said irritated, "but I won't be there for more than 30 minutes!" He arrived at the stadium and saw a girl with two braids in her hair and a hat on her head. Immediately they felt that they had known each other for years. They ended up talking for more than four hours that day. After the long athletics meeting, it was time for Lisa to head back to Witbank and Paul to head back home. Paul came home to a mom smiling broadly and a twinkle of mischief in her eyes. "I thought you would only be gone for 30 minutes?" Mom Trinka teased, "It's already past 20:00!" Paul and Lisa knew from that day on that there was something special brewing. They had found the one. On 16 December 2022, in the streets of Vienna Austria, Paul had asked Lisa to be his wife, his soulmate and his partner in crime. With not an inch of doubt in her body Lisa wholeheartedly exclaimed, "YES!". And as the saying goes: The rest is history...
