How did we meet? We met on a dating site called Zoosk! Take a chance they said…so we both did!. (Insert giggle here!) Under the encouragement of my friends and his son’s we both set up our sites. I was actually getting ready to close my account, but I saw his page and he saw mine. We each kept liking and swiping our pages. I would say “hi” or “hope you’re having a nice day” and he would say “you made my day”. He says he saw my profile and decided I was someone he had to meet. I saw his picture outdoor by a waterfall and his smile and took a chance to message. Paul asked to meet and I fell sick with bronchitis…for a month! He was thinking “yeah, right”! He really thought I didn’t want to meet. I really was sick. 4/27/2019 After a month of being sick I decided to get out of the house and go to beach. I remember thinking that I wished I would have texted him to meet. So when I got home late that afternoon I did. “Hi! I am feeling better. Wished I would have texted earlier, we could have met up tonight”. Quick response back, “We can still meet! I can come to you. 8pm okay?”. Giggles, shock, excitement…”Yes! BJ’s Brewery in Jacksonville?”…”See you there!” Paul met me outside and hugged me! My first impression- What a beautiful smile and kind eyes! His first impression- a great smile and a wonderful laugh. We both agree it was wonderful time sharing, laughing and conversation. It was so easy and comfortable. What didn’t we talk about?Sports, Florida, Nebraska, family, relationships, stories of growing up. Three hours sped by. Paul asked if I could take a day off the following Friday to come down to Ormond Beach for an official date and to show me around. And plans were made with a walk to the car and a hug goodbye. As he walked away I hear “Oh, wait” . He had turned around and came back for a kiss goodnight. (Insert more giggles and blushing by both of us here.). We had a wonderful first date in Ormond Beach! Ponce Inlet lighthouse, the drive on the beach where we walked and he shared surfing stories and history. Then to the Ocean Deck for lunch music and drinks, the Oyster Pub and Rodney’s Pub. A full day and wonderful time spent talking, sharing and so much laughter. This date ended like our meet up, a kiss and a plan for our second date. And after writing more chapters along our way you are now here. Our wedding day! Cheers! Here’s to writing more chapters in our life together! Much Love, Karen and Paul
