The year that changed my life forever! I wasn't into going out to venues or concerts, however a coworker convinced my best friend Laura and I to go to a Live at Five show in downtown Statesville. This was the first time I ever seen him. Little did I know this was his first time playing with DH and the CWB boys. We fell in love with the music and began to follow the band. Honestly I had no intentions of talking to anyone. Months after following the band Laura and a member of the band became closer and began to date which brought us closer to the band. I had no clue that this would lead me closer to him sooner or later. Later down the road we just happened to speak after a show and I guess you can say you just know it when you come across it. They say the best and most truest love happens unexpected and when you are not looking and well it sure hit me that way!
What can I say it took him forever! lol Just kidding! :) this one took me by surprise. We planned an early Christmas dinner with my entire family on Saturday, December 10, 2022. Ethan was working with his Senior Film Class that morning filming their moving for their senior project in our house so we headed out for a little last minute shopping before dinner. I could tell he was off a little that day. That afternoon we headed to my parents house for dinner in which my mom would not let me make anything which I found was odd. We all blessed the food, ate and then gathered in the living room to talk. My great nephew Chance come carrying me a gift, I was a little shocked to be the only one opening a present. As I began to open it of course I seen drum head boxes which I then knew it was from him and then I seen a ring box. Next thing I know he was down on one knee in front of my family asking me to be his forever. I cried of course. In complete shock but not in hesitation said YES! Here we are so close to becoming a Hamlett and I could not be any happier. Can't wait to see my prince charming standing at the alter!
