We met in 2012 in college at The Richard Stockton College (now known as Stockton University). We were both enrolled in a class called Courses, Majors & Careers. We sat a row apart from each other. Pat was in a fraternity & I was in a sorority that had many common connections so it was inevitable that we had some shared friends. One thing led to another & it's now 8 years later and we're getting married! We both have such wonderful memories of our college experience together & we wouldn't have it any other way.
It was a beautiful day, on September 21, 2019. Pat said earlier in the week that he was going to watch college football at his friend Jason's house and that he was going to bring the dogs. I asked my sister if she wanted to hang out that day since Pat was going to be gone, she agreed (knowing this was the day I was going to get engaged). Throughout the week Laney & I were discussing what we were going to do that Saturday. Originally, we said we were going to get dinner somewhere by the beach. When the morning of September 21st rolled around, I decided that I would rather go get sushi and see the new movie "Hustlers" instead of going out for dinner. As you can imagine, Laney went into panic mode knowing that she had to get me to go to the beach that night. I'm typically an easy going person, so when Laney said that my mom also wanted to hang out with us and go to the Tiki Bar in Long Branch, I agreed without much convincing. While we were at the Tiki Bar, I saw Pat's instagram story that showed him currently at Jason's house with our dogs. I came to find out he took prerecorded videos, making it seem like he was actually at Jason's house while we were sitting at the Tiki Bar. The next thing I knew, Laney asked me to take a photo of her by the ocean (if you know Laney and I, you know this is very common). As I was snapping pictures of her I heard "Bryn" behind me and I knew it was Pat's voice. In that moment I'm pretty sure I blacked out. I turned around to see him walking towards me with my two dogs. He was speaking to me, saying wonderfully nice things, but I couldn't hear anything because I knew that this was it, I WAS GETTING ENGAGED!! I looked from left to right and saw my Parents, my Sister and Ryan, my Grammy and Poppy, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins ETC! I could not have been more excited or more surprised. It was one of the best nights of my life and I'm still in shock that Pat pulled it off! The proposal was followed by a dinner at 100 Ocean in Pier Village.
