Patricia and Lawrence met in the spring of 2021 when their mutual friends hosted a brunch at their residence. After the initial meeting, the duo reconnected the following day for a game night at the same location which is where Lawrence made his first move. The game of choice was monopoly and Patricia landed on Lawrence's property but did not have enough monopoly money to continue the round. The groom to be brazenly offered to waive Patricia's monopoly debt in exchange for her phone number. The bold move paid off and they started dating two months later.

After purchasing a ring at the beginning of 2023, Lawrence was racking his brain trying to figure out what the ideal proposal would be. The original plan was to propose on a trip to Haiti but planning around their schedules and the security concerns with the country was very difficult. The perfect opportunity came along when Patricia decided to plan a small 30th birthday celebration for Lawrence. This event was the perfect occasion as Lawrence believed Patricia would not see it coming. With the help of his friend Lawrence arranged to have Patricia's family walk into the party while he was speaking. The second Patricia glanced at her family she knew something was up. "Welp" while staring in each others eyes in front of their friends and family, Lawrence got down on one knee and the rest is history. They relished the moment with dinner and desert.
