We met like "normal" people in a bar, at a restaurant. His pick up line was hey gurrl...LOL Um yeah right! We met online on Bumble, a dating app. After exchanging messages, Jon asked me out and I was intrigued from the first date. We met at Whiskey Cake at Bay brook Mall. I had never been so he got points for that! He knew what to order, took charge of the conversation, asked all the correct questions and for me this was different enough to keep my attention. We hit it off so much that after the date ended, we continued the conversation in my car. Right then , Jon opened up ALOT. I heard a lot of things that could have scared me away but I was shocked that someone I first met, felt so comfortable. We have been together ever since!
I wish I can say it was romantic, planned and just lovely but if you know Jon at all, you know he is not a planner and a bit of a goof. Looking back at it now I can laugh and say, aww but he is my goof. Well that is exactly how the proposal went down! I was a hot mess, just woke up and started to get ready to go to his brother's home for Christmas. My closet was a mess as I was trying on things and of course asking him, What should I wear? As I struggle , He says, " Maybe something to go with this?" I turn around, he is on his knee, ring box open, smiling. I could tell he was nervous, I was completely taken off guard and then...complete silence. I wasn't asked a question and I didn't want to assume. I just kept saying are you serious?? LOL. Now I was nervous, very awkward as he didn't ask me yet. At this moment I don't even know if I said yes or just put the ring on. We hugged, kissed and than sat there analyzing what just happened. As we start to talk, he then touches my elbow and says, "Do you know they call this the Weenus?" O..M...G....till this day we laugh at how awkward he was!
