Clark and Patrice met in the M.B.A. program at Texas State University. Once they were introduced by a mutual friend, they were fast friends and remained that way until the end of the program. It wasn't until the final few semesters where they began studying together more often, developing inside jokes they still laugh about today and discovering how much in common they actually had - from how they were raised to their views on life and love. During the last semester, Patrice was at work thinking about how she may never see Clark again after graduation (after all, they were just really good study buddies who didn't hang out too often outside of class) and began to cry imagining Clark not being in her life. It was at that moment she realized how strongly she felt for him and knew she had to give it a shot (unaware if he felt the same way about her; surprise, he did!). After a few months of dating and trying to 'play it cool,' their love developed quickly and it became clear how meant-to-be they were. Clark and Patrice are so thankful for their friendship that became the foundation of their deep love and appreciation for each other.
Clark proposed while on a hike with Patrice on their last day of vacation with her parents and one of her (3) nephews, Liam.
