Megan and David first met in late 2013 through, what else, soccer ⚽️! Megan moved to Austin for graduate school and quickly connected with a new friend, Emma, who played on an indoor soccer team. David played on the same team! Megan and David became acquaintances, then friends, bonding over soccer and good food while catching up on the latest The Walking Dead episodes 🧟 🧟‍♀️ .

A foundation of friendship made the transition into something more easy and fun. Making the leap during a global pandemic? A little stressful! Megan and David spent this time getting to know each other more personally— How do you clean your house? What does a relaxing Sunday look like for you? — and also had what seemed like endless amount of time for enjoying shared activities, like soccer on a tennis court, learning to roller skate 🛼 and skateboard 🛹, camping ⛺️, and playing music 🎶.

Megan and David bought a house right outside East Austin proper, right next to a bike path 🚲 that can still take them into their favorite areas of Austin.

David started playing music WEEKLY, and sometimes more frequently, with his friends, which Megan supported of course. Turns out David wrote a few songs and they were practicing to play them live! In a show! In Megan and David’s living room! Surrounded by our friends! Megan said yes! 💍
