Funny enough, Parker and Avery knew of each other before moving into the same dorm freshman year at Appalachian State University in 2018. Avery’s parents taught at the same high school as Parker’s Grandmama. Their parents have been distant friends ever since, living now in Oak Ridge NC and Lincolnton NC, sending continuous Christmas cards and attending each others baby showers for Parker and Avery back in 1999 and 2000. Flash forward to 2018, Parker and Avery were attending the same freshman orientation when both of their moms stated that they should meet up. Moving into the same dorm, a floor between them, the two became friends and became the glue of their mixed friend group. It wasn’t until sophomore year that the two began dating and the rest is history. Between a pandemic, graduations, and other events, the two grew more and more in love. Finally, Parker surprised Avery with a proposal in front of their close family and friends on the Blue Ridge Parkway October 27th, 2023.
