Courtney first saw Matt in the temple and hoped that he was who their group was meeting up with. To her surprise he walked up and greeted her and her friend. Inside she melted. They chatted briefly later that night but lost touch for a couple months. They found each other again and went out on their first date in February. The rest is history!

Courtney says that Matt is her stars 🌟 and Courtney is Matt's moon 🌙. Matt and Courtney went to walk to one of their favorite spots - the Provo River Trail. She was suspicious because he was ready to go when she picked him up from his house and he usually wasn't. When they got to the river bend she didn't think anything of it but when he got on one knee, she said "of course" in answer to the long-awaited question.
