Drury (Officially Mike, but he will always be Drury to me) and I met through a very good mutual friend, Wellde (Officially Chris, but to all of us, he is Wellde. This will be a recurring theme. It may get confusing for some, but not most..) Wellde introduced me to his friend Drury on the Purple Patio and while I would like to say the rest is history, things did not fall into place quite that easily!

Fast forward past some really fun times (first dates, beach trips..) and some really scary times (Drury's broken neck)...and you will get to my favorite memory of us, so far. The night Drury proposed I thought he was acting stranger than he EVER has before. We were living in our first place together for 1 week and I was feeling the pressure of being a very slow un-packer.... I came home from work to dinner made and 2 bottles of champagne in the refrigerator. No alarms were going off at this point... Drury made it a point to say that the dinner he made was the same exact meal he made for us the first night he cooked. This also did not tip me off. The only thing that seemed out of the ordinary was how NERVOUS he seemed. I didn't know if it was stress from the move or my lack of unpacking - so that's what I started to do. I rushed from room to room (with him following me and staring at me each move) trying to unpack things. I finally barreled into the living room and almost ran him over while he was down on one knee, and basically yelled "I HAVE SOMETHING FOR YOU!!" He went on to say some very sweet things and told me the story behind the most beautiful ring I get to wear each day. He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and after confirming he was not joking, I said OF COURSE!!!
