Alexandra and Josh's romance began on September 22, 2020, like any modern love story: by matching on Tinder. They texted back and forth for hours, then took the plunge and agreed to meet the next day (masks in hand for safety) on their first date. On this soon-to-be historic day, they took a long stroll in West Philadelphia and shared their first of many pizzas while Josh regaled Alexandra with fond memories of his prior life working at a MN-based pizza jawn (Josh insists, to this day, that it is the absolute best pizza in the world). During that first face-to-face meeting, they realized how much they had in common: Both love to travel the world, exploring foreign countries and cultures. Both love to try new restaurants and new culinary adventures. Both love living in the city. Although they had just met, it felt like they have known each other their entire lives. Love was definitely in the air! Unfortunately, COVID was in the air, as well, and the entire world was on lockdown. Notwithstanding their demanding schedules as a corporate lawyer and emergency veterinarian and the challenges of dating during a global pandemic, Alexandra and Josh continued to make time to see each other almost every day for the months to follow. After eight months, the couple moved in together and Josh became a cat dad to Alexandra's two cats, Mango and Newton. Twelve months after their first date, they adopted their goldendoodle, Waffle, and recruited the cats to help train him into becoming a fine young pup. Two months later, Alexandra and Josh bought a house in South Philadelphia, completely confusing their four-legged kids, who suddenly had to adjust to staircases and new rooms for the first time. Soon enough, their house became a home. The following year was spent traveling, trying new restaurants, making new memories, and supporting each other through everything from big career changes to the small trials and tribulations of daily life. On December 10, 2022, Josh proposed to Alexandra in a cozy, intimate French restaurant in the heart of Philadelphia, and Alexandra, of course, said "Yes!" Alexandra and Josh cannot wait to start the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife. While their new anniversary will be their wedding day, the couple recognizes the day they first met as the start of their loving relationship. For them, it truly was love at first sight. They cannot wait to say "I do!" alongside their closest family and friends. They are truly looking forward to celebrating with you all.
