John planned a night with mutual friends, in hopes of Kelly being there. Kelly told a few friends she was shy because “John Lettieri was going to be there”, he was a lot of girl’s high school crush. With the comfort of mutual friends, she came and the night turned out great. Afterwards, John invited Kelly on a date for her 17th birthday, and she shyly avoided. After a few days of asking, and a few more of Kelly avoiding, John said "I understand, just check your mailbox.” where she found a happy birthday balloon tied to the mailbox that had a wilted bouquet of flowers and a card inside that John had been waiting to give her for her birthday. After feeling terrible for pushing him off, and realizing he’s not just handsome but ALSO a gentlemen, they went out on their first real date, and quickly fell head-over-heels, and here we are still trippin’ nine years later.
