Heading out to Norwalk, CT for training for their first post-graduate jobs at FactSet, Paige and Emmett were seated next to each other on the plane. He was hungover and she was nauseous but they spent the flight swapping college stories and bonding over a mutual love for London nonetheless. Over the coming months, Paige and Emmett found excuses to spend time together outside of work. Paige even signed up for the FactSet intramural soccer team (despite her lack of coordination and athleticism) to win his affections, and Emmett suggested a slew of concerts that they should attend. After several dinners, walks through Lincoln Park, and late nights dancing at Shenanigans, they finally made it Facebook official in February 2016.
Paige and Emmett share a passion for travel and have taken several trips together, including a trip to Munich for Oktoberfest and one throughout Scandinavia. London holds a special place in their hearts; Paige studied abroad there and Emmett spent an unforgettable New Year’s Eve there with his family. They also have traveled there together, showing each other their favorite parts of the city. The two decided to return to London to "celebrate Emmett’s birthday" but he had something else in mind. On their last day, they returned to Paige’s old stomping grounds for her favorite croissants and a tour of Kensington Palace. Paige was thrilled that Emmett suggested a morning of admiring Princess Diana’s dresses and the jewelry of former Queens, but he had much more planned. As they exited the palace, they wandered through Kensington Gardens and took in the rare London sunshine. To Paige’s utter disbelief (seriously...she walked away at first thinking he was joking until she spotted the ring box), Emmett got down on one knee and they agreed to spend the rest of their lives together. It was a proposal fit for a Princess (Prince Harry and Meghan announced their engagement from that exact spot…). They finished the day with afternoon tea along the Thames, dinner at their favorite pub, and, of course, doughnuts.
