Ultimately we want guests to feel comfortable and welcome at our wedding. We prefer people avoid jeans but we won't kick you out if you have them on. Think of what you would wear to a dressed up Christmas party for work. Suits appreciated. Sparkles are very welcome! If I was attending my own wedding as a guest Heaven would wear a sparkly dress or long dress (because warmth!). Owen would wear a suit or dress pants with button up shirt plus or minus tie. Some people care not to wear the same as bridal party (we don't care if you do). Bridesmaids are in burgundy velvet long dressed. Groomsmen are in navy suits with burgundy accents.
YES! Kids are welcome at our wedding. Make sure to specify on your RSVP your kid count. Also be aware our wedding has an open bar (part of the night) so alcohol will be served to adults (sharing in case this matters).
There is plenty of parking at our wedding venue. There is a huge parking lot. It is an area that is easy to park and find parking so that won't be an issue. Also parking is FREE.
If your invitation states that a guest is included you may. We tried to count a guest for those in committed long term relationship at the time of sending out invitations. If you your RSVP had your name only and you are in a long term relationship (whom would like to come to the wedding) just contact us and we will correct this. We just want to make sure we have our counts correct.
Currently registered through Zola and Amazon (you can have gifts shipped to us instead of you if preferred). We are not shipping our gifts to us until the week of the wedding for fun! We are also registered with Target. Most of our gifts on our wish list are currently on Amazon. Gifts are not mandatory.
Yes, see our travel page for hotel recommendations. We will be staying at Pier B personally. This hotel will book very early due to Bentleyville (some rooms you can see Bentleyville from! But there are much closer options to the venue that are cheaper.
There will be a hosted bar. This will include keg beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options. You can purchase other beverages if you desire something else (note: water and coffee are free as well). The hosted bar starts at the cocktail hour (5pm). We have pre-purchased a certain amount to avoid over purchasing. We have some on reserve but will not tap a keg past a certain point to avoid unused beer. There is a small potential for it switching to a cash bar later in the night so bring cash just in case. Bring cash to tip your bartenders regardless. Drink responsibility and please don't drink and drive! Plan a DD, Lyft/Uber (download apps ahead of time), or taxi!
None of the hotels in Duluth, MN have a provided shuttle service. Unfortunately due to difficulty finding nearby hotels that would block for the event, we dedicated not to hire a private shuttle service. That said, Duluth has a decent Uber/Lyft set up as well as various taxis available. Download Uber (first choice) or Lyft app a head of time so you don't have to mess with it the night of! Dwarf King Taxi LLC -- 218-434-5464 SK Taxi USA -- 218-221-1604 Allied Taxi -- 218-722-3311 We will let Taxis know the day of about the event and try and get one of them to hang out around closing time. The taxi services are pretty nice in Duluth. Please make sure you have a DD or have a plan for your transportation if you are drinking. We want people to be safe!

If you did not RSVP or communicate your RSVP to us by November 1st you will be put down as not attending. Unfortunately, we are required to provide a head count to our vendors, with our biggest one being our venue for catering food and alcohol. We also have assigned seating so we must have a seat reserved for you. If you need to change your RSVP because something comes up please let us know ASAP. If this is because you cannot attend then we know there is an extra seat/food/drink. If you are wanting to attend after RSVPs were due, we will have to see if there is extra seating/food/drink availability. We appreciate your understanding!
Yes! The ceremony will occur. Then everyone will go upstairs to the bar for cocktail hour so the downstairs can be flipped into the reception area. Everything is indoors of course!
UPDATE: Weather is predicted to be COLD! The temperature is predicted to be a high of 21 (will feel like 9 degrees) and a low of 16 with 5-10 mph winds and 23% chance of snow. It does not look like it will snow much the days before so should not be a blizzard situation at all. We currently have about 2 inches of snow on the ground. This last winter it was very mild and there was no snow. However, it could be a full on blizzard with many feet of snow or well below zero. We chose this date in hopes of having a little bit of snow but not too much and having it not be too cold so we will see how well we predicted. Bring lots of warm clothes options. Layering is your friend! Everything is indoors so we will stay nice and toasty!
Bentleyville is going on during this time of the year and that does tend to make hotels more booked on the weekends so I do encourage you to book your hotel early because of this. if you want to be in the canal park area (close to Bentleyville) I would encourage you to book by the end of summer/beginning of fall.
There will be beer (we have kegs) and wine (red and white) as part of the open bar. Cocktails and other alcoholic beverages separate from what we have chosen can be purchased. There will be a root beer keg as part of the open bar and free water. There will appetizers (meatballs with sweet and sour sauce and pretzels with cheese). Dinner: Pasta bar! There will be gluten free pasta available. Choose meatballs or grilled chicken and marinara (no dairy in this one) or Alfredo sauce. Grilled vegetables and Cesar salad and bread. Dessert: Amazing cake! Marble cake with layers of both chocolate and vanilla buttercream. Also cupcakes that are vanilla, chocolate, and orea with various combinations of buttercream frosting. We will likely have late night pizza for when we burn all those calories on the dance floor!
Absolutely! We booked a fun DJ and we can't wait to dance the night away with our friends and family!
We plan to have buffet style food. If you have a food allergy please reach out to us to make sure there is not an issue with the food that will be provided. We do not have special food option currently. However, we have chosen a pasta buffet that you can choose to go without meat. There is gluten free pasta. There is dairy free sauce option. So this should help with any restrictions.
We are having an unplugged ceremony. This means we kindly ask you keep cameras, video cameras, cellphones away during the ceremony and let our photographers and videographer capture our ceremony. We will share these photos with you! You are free to take photos and videos during the rest of the night. Thank you for understanding!
Check out our wedding website for any changes. If you need to contact us feel free to do so through the website, text, call, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Yes! We will have a Christmas tree you can place your card or gift underneath. If you prefer to send a gift in mail both Zola and Amazon registries offer the ship option on gifts. This is easy option for people that have to travel. We are wedding to ship the gifts until the week of the wedding. It will be soon fun! Gifts/cards are not necessary. Please still come celebrate with us!
Sit anywhere! First row will be for parents but other than that seating is fair game. There will be no "sides."
We have all of our recommendations saved on our what do page. Check it out!
YES! Feel free to post anything you want on all social media! But remember ceremony is unplugged so no photos or videos during that.
Unfortunately, there will not be. However, we will share plenty of photos and videos afterwards and we know you will be there in spirit.
There will be table numbers assigning groups of 8 people max. There will be a large poster board seating chart that will have table numbers and each table will have people alphabetized by last name to assist with finding yourself more easily. You can sit anywhere at your assigned table number (there will not be place cards).
