The year was 2013, and our two heroes were entering into what they thought would be an ordinary university Shakespeare course - as ordinary as that could ever be. Little did they know they were about to embark upon an adventure so great, it would change the course of their lives forever. Alyssa and Dylan met at Rutgers University. They were friends for some time before life took them down diverging paths. Years went by, and in a twist of good fortune, Alyssa and Dylan rekindled their friendship over common interests. This was the point of no return: their quest had begun.

Our heroes joined forces - and houses - just before the start of the pandemic. Though many forced to spend so much time together discovered that their bond could not withstand such close proximity, Alyssa and Dylan quickly realized they were never meant to part. Two cats and countless toy dragons later, they had built a life to call their own. They consumed many snacks and imbibed vast quantities of coffee. They climbed rocks, studied ballroom dance, journeyed to the realm of Disney (a few times), and spent many an hour playing Dungeons & Dragons. Best of all, they shared a sense of humor few appreciated as much as each other.

On the eve of Christmas, 2022, Alyssa and Dylan sat at home and unwrapped their gifts. As Alyssa examined each trinket in her stocking, she found a wrapped box she knew would be a set of dice used to play D&D. She was most surprised to learn the box contained not only lovely new dice, but an even more precious gift as well: her engagement ring. Dylan knelt before her and asked his lady for her hand. She, of course, said yes. Our adventurers continue on, ready to face whatever their future together may hold. Although some parts are not yet known, others are certain: there will be love, magic, and lots of dragons.
