Our love story is sort of cliche when I say it truly happened accidentally. I decided to go to New York to get away from my depressing apartment in October of 2020 in the midst of COVID. I hadn't seen my best friends Jen and Loren in a while and we all needed a little pick me up. While I was there, Jen let me know that her cousin Josh was coming and then told me, "Don't get mad, but I told him about you. I think you guys would really hit it off." Needless to say, I hate match making lol. It never works out for me. Usually people have no idea what I like and I end up not being compatible with the person and completely uninterested. I decided to go in with an open mind but warned her that if I didn't like him I wouldn't pretend to just to save her from hurt feelings. LOL. We met up the day before apple picking with another friend of mine (Monet) and we all went to get drinks, catch up and talk. I noticed that he was handsome cool but can he hold a conversation? That's more important to me and he could! He was versatile in his content too and thats very important because you have to be able to talk to your spouse and actually like talking to them. LOL. I also noticed how hospitable and chivalrous he was towards not just me but his cousin and my friend Monet which really interested me. (As a small example: We left my rental car so that he could drive, he drove us all around the city and even back home because he felt it wasn't safe for us to try to find parking so late at night.) The next day Jen and I got ready to go apple picking and Josh actually wasn't supposed to go, but decided to be our guide since I didn't know the location. We went apple picking and had a blast! He spoiled Jen rotten even letting her climb on to his neck to pick an apple. LOL I thought that was cute and funny and gave me a better glimpse into just how much of a gentleman he was. We talked for over an hour while Jen shopped at the apple store and found out a lot about each other. Still, I wasn't quite sold. I know I know guys, but I had PTSD from terrible dating experiences. I thought he was interesting, but only as a friend. We exchanged numbers and then we talked every day for 2 weeks straight getting to know each other. October 25th we became official and the rest is HISTORY as they say or shall I say HERSTORY because I wrote all of this and Josh thinks its too long! LOL I picked a good apple! :)
