How We Met - Lillys Perspective

Evan and I met originally online but were friends starting off. During this time I made it my mission to find my future husband and was going on several dates. I noticed that most of the men I would talk to would lie/exaggerate about who they were just so they could date me. So with Evan, since he brought his friends on our first date, I decided to act like I was completely not interested just to see how Evan would act and to see who he really was. After a few months of friendship I was slowly falling for Evan each time I saw him. I noticed how genuine he was and that he couldn't be anyone other than himself. To this day Evan is one of the most unique and interesting people I have ever met. The more we hung out the more I also realized how our belief systems and dreams for the future aligned, Our quirks and interests synced up perfectly, and how I felt so good to be in his presence. Quickly I knew this was the man for me. The last day before we made it official I had gotten tea with Evan. What was supposed to be a quick tea date quickly turned into an all day hang out. Before heading home Evan and I talked for hours in his car about everything. Evan randomly blurted out, "Lilly do you like me?" and I *apparently* turned red and said "okay I do!". Later that night when I got home I had made up my mind and was ready to be his girlfriend and was considering how to make this official... The next day I was in downtown Asheville driving home when Evan called and asked me to be his girlfriend. 4/15/21 we became official.

How We Met - Evans Perspective

Our relationship started when Lilly contacted me on a dating app and said she liked my profile. After a few weeks of chatting back and forth, we decided to meet in person. Lilly and I spent a few hours at a tea shop getting to know each other, and at the time, we both thought we would stay friends. After we hung out more, I noticed she was acting different than normal and decided to address it. From what I noticed, she was interviewing me by getting to know me. She tried to ask me specific questions very casually to see if I would be someone she would want to consider for a future husband. Once I noticed this was going on, I called her out, embarrassed her, and the rest is history. Lilly and I have gone through the difficulties of building a relationship. She helped me become the man and partner I knew I could be as a child. Lilly once again gave me hope that there is someone with the same values and perspective on life as I have. She has helped bring me back to the center after having a life of heartache, sadness, and despair. I know we are 11 years apart but sometimes you have to wait for that special someone.
