The story began in the late Summer of 2014. Orett had recently moved to Norwalk, CT to begin his residency, and Davi-Ann was a Trauma Nurse in Hartford, CT. We were both extremely busy with work, but a fellow colleague and friend convinced Davi-Ann it was time to begin dating again; by a chance encounter online, Orett and Davi-Ann recognized they instantly had a connection.

Orett told Davi-Ann they had a double date with a close friend in Rhode Island. The itinerary included viewing the historic mansions, followed by lunch. On arrival Orett pretended to call his friend, who was 1.5 hours away. Orett decided to begin their tour through the Breakers Mansion and join his friend at the next Mansion tour on his arrival. The couple explored and photographed the Italian Renaissance inspired decor. They arrived at the grandiose balcony where Bluetooth speakers were inconspicuously placed. Davi-Ann, impatiently wanting to continue the tour, heard the melody of John Legend’s “You & I” in the background and paused. Her family, presumed to be over 100 miles away at breakfast, appeared in the nick of time to console a very tearful and puzzled Davi-Ann. She knew without a doubt, and embraced Orett with a hug and the word 'YES..' However, Orett had yet to completely ask for Davi-Ann's hand. Orett, the perfect gentleman, got on one knee and asked Davi-Ann to be his wife.

1. Epic television series "Game of Thrones", enjoyed by the couple, was the highlight of their online profiles; and "The" reason Davi-Ann had the courage to connect with Orett. Since the inception of their relationship the couple has watched every episode together; either in the same room or separated by an 80-mile drive (distance from Norwalk to Hartford) while on the phone together. The shows 8th and final season is due to return in 2019, needless to say, they can't wait! 2. The first date Davi-Ann was fashionably late but with good reason. Orett chose the venue, Red Lobster, and both agreed to meet at 6 PM. Orett arrived punctually at 5:50 PM and was cool as ice; Davi-Ann messaged soon after to apologize and inform Orett she could not join him for another 30 minutes due to a work emergency. Davi-Ann arrived a "whopping" 90 minutes later and was greeted with a smile. It was at this point, Davi-Ann discovered she found a patient and understanding gentleman, and Orett recognized he found a diligent hard-working woman. 3. Punta Cana was the couple’s first lengthy getaway together. On the sunny island of the Dominican Republic, Davi-Ann and Orett had their first squabble. "Orett is usually unbothered by most things," Davi-Ann explains, " at breakfast that morning he wanted to pour Hot Chocolate into a cereal bowl instead of the cups provided because they were too small; I felt it was silly and childish and demanded he use multiple cups instead." Orett then said, "That morning we had breakfast in silence, while I pouted like a child; I quickly recognized my childish reaction and knew nothing was worth ruining our precious time together." The couple quickly moved onto their day's adventures. Orett and Davi-Ann now laugh at the memory of that day, and recognize daily their bond is stronger than their imperfections... "Orett can be a total clown at times, but I love him!" Davi-Ann exclaims, while smiling.
