Things To Do

Times when you all can do things.
Kaʻena Point Trail

Kaʻena Point Trail

Farrington Highway, Waialua, HI 96791

This is a great hike to see local wildlife including monk seals. It is an easy, flat hike, but has no shade. Bring a hat and plenty of water.

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail, HI

This is a paved hike on the east side of the island that is appropriate for a wide range of fitness levels. Multiple other Hawai'ian islands are visible from this hike.

Shark’s Cove

Shark’s Cove

Haleiwa, HI 96712

This is a great spot to snorkel on the North Shore with plenty of fish and maybe even a sea turtle!

Waimea Bay Beach

Waimea Bay Beach

North Shore, HI 96712

This is an iconic North Shore beach that hosts "The Eddie", a world famous surf competition. Please note that the waves pick up in the winter and may be too rough to swim in October. There are lifeguards, but please use your best judgement. Regardless of the waves, Waimea is a fantastic backdrop to sun and socialize!

Kalama Beach

Kalama Beach

Kailua, HI 96734

Kalama Beach is in Kailua located on the windward side of the island and is the perfect beach for swimming year-round. Onyx and Matt typically come here on Sundays after their trip to the KailuaTown Farmer's Market.

Giovanni's Shrimp Truck

66-472 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa, HI 96712

There are a lot of awesome famous food trucks in this area to get a taste of Hawai'i. If you are looking for the best shrimp plate on the island, go to Giovanni's.

Leonard's Bakery

933 Kapahulu Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96816

A true local favorite, a Malasada is a Portuguese donut made of yeasted dough coated with sugar and cinnamon served piping hot. You may also get them with various fillings. This is their original location but they also have three food trucks located throughout the island.

Off The Wall Craft Beer & Wine

1170 Auahi Street, Honolulu, HI 96814

This is a nice little spot where you pour your own bevvies. There are multiple taps on the wall including beer, wine, and seltzers.

Kona Brewing Hawaii Kai

7192 Kalanianole Highway, Honolulu, HI 96825

Although you can find Kona's beer even in rural Missouri now-a-days, their brews still slap when drinking them in Hawai'i Kai on the water. Tasty cocktails for all you beer haters as well. There are plenty more breweries on the island and you can't really go wrong with the exception of Aloha Beer Co., which tastes like dirt and sadness.

Old Waialua Sugar Mill

76 106 Kealohanui Street, Waialua, HI 96791

Located on an old sugar plantation, the mill is a great place to get local coffee, Hawai'ian treats, and island-made quality souvenirs. Have self-respect and don't get them from an ABC store. In addition to the mill there are a few other shops that sell a variety of artisan goods.

Charter Oahu

1125 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu, HI 96814

For anyone who wants a true snorkel adventure and guaranteed sea turtle sightings, this is a must-do. Onyx has used this tour company with loved ones who have come to visit her.
