I (Olivia) was the leader of the choir at the Catholic Campus Ministry at JMU. Andrew decided to join the choir as well, but he had a secret. I would always invite the choir members to my concerts for the music program and Andrew began to attend along with other choir members. My friends insisted he liked me but I thought he was just trying to make friends. One concert, he was the only one that came and he said he thought to himself, "well, I guess I better make my move." He asked me if he could take me for a post-concert bubble tea. We went and had a really nice time. After walking me to my car, he asked me out for our first real date - on Valentine's Day - a bold move that I liked. We went out for Italian and our adventure began.

It was Andrew's last weekend living in Williamsburg so we decided to spend the day downtown. I had talked of how I would like to have a picnic on the lawn of the Governor's mansion. We were getting lunch at the Cheese Shop and Andrew surprised me with the suggestion we take it to the Governor's lawn. He said he wanted us to take a picture in front of the mansion, so we left our blanket to take one. We took the picture and Andrew started acting really sentimental as he looked at the mansion; I was slightly suspicious. We went back to our blanket and Andrew asked to look at the pictures. He said he didn't really like them and asked if we could go back and take another. At this point, I was a little more suspicious. We walked back toward the mansion and took a few more. As I leaned over to grab my purse for us to leave, Andrew grabbed my hand and said "Oh, and one more thing..." He got down one knee, gave the sweetest speech, and asked me to marry him. As I said yes, a group of school kids who had been watching broke out into cheers. We didn't have a photographer planned, but God was looking out for us... two ladies walking by saw that Andrew was proposing and took a video AND a picture for us (the picture is the one above). God is good and we can't wait to get married!!
