"I (don't) wish I knew how to quit you"

the Reader’s Digest version of the extremely overdramatic 12 year romance leading to stupid, happy, bliss

HOW IT STARTED: Famously, Olivia and Alex met the first day of Scripps College orientation. Having both picked "service" as their orientation activity, they were made to pick up trash in a trash-less desert nature preserve in 107 degree SoCal heat followed by an afternoon in a very sad nursing home. Olivia thinks Al is cool and cute, tries to befriend them and fails because they were too busy talking to a girl named Megan (whatever). Flash forward a semester: Olivia has decided Alex is weird but reluctantly decides to join them for dinner at their invitation. It is a fateful evening at the Harvey Mudd College Dining Hall - a golden thread starts to weave itself between their hearts in a way neither were ready for. They spend most of college fighting about being in love with each other even though they aren't together, dating other people, and generally being a mess. Then they were together and it was beautiful. They move to LA, supporting each other as they both work their asses off trying to build their respective careers and senses of self. As they grow through those next six years, they begin to realize there are things in the big big world they had to weather independently- and that was the worst. THE DARK AGES: Al and Liv attempt to "quit" each other - one in Colorado and one in New York - but much like the boys of Brokeback, it just didn't take 🤷🏼‍♀️. Let's skip through the rest of that part. It was necessary but boy was it UHG. NOW: Three years later, they take the leap and Olivia heads to Colorado. Life is complex and their love is soft, strong, and for once, pretty undramatic. Just two cowboys saddling up to chase the horizon for as long as they can. Our wedding isn't actually cowboy themed, but why don't you put on your hat and join us to bootscoot for our love, and celebrate all of you - those who have cared for us along the way. p.s. pls RSVP as soon as you can so we can continue to work out numbers! thank you in advance!
