We'll set the stage for you...Jake, a UCSD sophomore in the prime of his life; Olivia, a bright-eyed freshman with the world at her fingertips. We were introduced by a mutual friend at a party (courtesy of Jake's fraternity) during Olivia's first week at UCSD. We know, it just couldn't be more romantic. We went on with our lives as acquaintances for the next few years, until one fateful weekend at Coachella in 2012 where the stars aligned and the desert sun was just hot enough. Between the melodic tunes of Swedish House Mafia and the blistering winds from the desert storm, we knew there was an undeniable spark. Back home, our gluten-free pizza dates and sunset walks grew into something more. Our love blossomed that magical summer of 2012 as we celebrated Jake's graduation from UCSD. Little did we know, we had begun our lifelong romance. We were there for each other through thick and thin, through new jobs and new cities and somehow our love persevered.

Seven years later, Jake got down on one knee at the very place he first uttered the words "I love you" to Olivia and this time, he asked "will you marry me?". All kudos to Jake for accomplishing the impossible and actually surprising Olivia. The night was complete with a surprise engagement dinner with our nearest and dearest. Joyful tears were shed, champagne was toasted and 2+ years later the big day is finally around the corner!
