We met at my childhood church in Jamaica. Our church was having their annual VBS (Vocation Bible School )in August. Olando was a shy kid with a big personality that was not seen my many people. I was leading the class that Tuesday and saw him siting by himself and offered him the chance to come closer to our class .He of course denied and walked away. After that day , he would constantyl come to church and i would constantly try to invite him to join our friendship group. Eventually my friendship catch on to what was happening and assumed i was being nice to him because i like him, which was indeed incorrect. Over the few months of him coming to church and constantly hanging out to me, i finally saw the great personality he had. He was very kind, caring, loving ,smart and ambitious . It was a few months before Christmas when he pulled me to the side and ask if he could be my girlfriend . I accepted and then our relationship journey began. We only spent 10 months together as a couple before i had to move to the U.S. I eventually asked him, " If i was to move to the U.S , would you drop everything in Jamaica and live with me ?", he looked at me as if i had lost my mind but he evetually said ,"Hell yeah, then nuh mus" . That is when our long distance relationship started. It wasn't easy because everyone taught both side would be cheating, people would say to us ,"there's no way she/he is being faithful, they must be cheating". These constant words got to us sometimes but eventually stayed true to our self. On May 17, 2019, Olando Reckford asked for my hand in marriage and ofcourse i said yes. We have been together for over 8 years and on July 29, 2023 we will be tighing the knot with selected close friends and friends . So join us as we embark on this journey as Mrs and Mr Reckford.
