Nathan & I often joke that we met each other in Spain. That's a partial truth... We met online via Hinge in October 2021 (boring!), but we found out that we had both hiked El Camino de Santiago, a famous hiking trail in Northern Spain, in May 2019. Same trail, same time. We still can't believe it either. The Lord was gracious to give my nervous self an easy first date conversation topic! ;) During our first date at a wine bar in Lakeview, Nate convinced me that he ALSO loved running at sunrise on the lake path, so we agreed we'd do that together early on (see our first pic together in the gallery from one of these runs!). I later came to find out he had only ever been on a few sunrise runs, and he now jokes that he told me that because he knew he needed to convince me to keep seeing him. And it worked. It was only a month or so later that we had met one another's family (shoutout to the Moxness crew at the Milwaukee ballet & the Hamman family (+ Eli) in Naperville). We 'officially' started dating on New Year's Eve of 2021 (though if you ask me, I'll tell you it was quite earlier than that). I'll admit that I said "I love you" before Nathan did. It was accidental at first, as I was dropping off some sweets during his busy season at work and had accidentally very softly said, "love you, bye!!" (oops). We both said it "for real" about a month or so later, during which time he admitted he heard me the first time (cue eye roll). 2022 and 2023 were FULL of fun trips, weddings out of state, dinner dates, get-togethers with friends, holidays with family, and so SO much more. February 3rd, 2024 was the date Nate got down on one knee to ask me to marry him. Wow, was that an easy "yes"! The Lord has been so kind to us, and our amazing community has been such a gift. We consider ourselves extremely blessed to have SO many people like you that have prayed for, loved on, and so graciously supported our relationship up to this point. We can't WAIT to celebrate with you on December 1st!
