GENERAL TRANSPORTATION TIPS

Once inside Oaxaca Centro, which is where we recommend you all book accommodations, there is no need for a car. All restaurants, most attractions, and all wedding festivities will be within walking distance.  When transporting to and from the airport, taxis work well in the area. Taxis can often be arranged by hotels and restaurants, just make sure you agree on cost before getting in. Taxi rides from the airport to Oaxaca Centro area are fixed and booked at the taxi counter in the arrivals section of the airport ($105 MXN for a shared taxi mini-van ride / $410 for a private car for up to 4 ppl). Price varies slightly if you're staying outside of Centro Oaxaca. Within Centro Oaxaca everything is very walkable but if you take a cab to/from restaurants, hotels, wedding venue, etc in the centro area, expect to pay around $70 MXN - $100 MXN.

Oaxaca City has many wonderful boutique hotels, large hotels, and airbnbs located just within walking distance of all the wedding festivities. We recommend you stay within the limits of the Centro as illustrated by the pink area on the linked map.  Below we've also listed some recommended hotels by our wedding planner as well as 2 hotels we have a wedding block with.

OAXACA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (OAX)

We recommend guests fly into Oaxaca International Airport as it is the closest to Oaxaca Centro where all of the wedding festivities will take place. It's a ~20 minute Uber drive to Oaxaca city center.
