We met in the fall of 2013 at the University of Connecticut when Katie started an English PhD program. Patrick was already at UConn in the midst of his own PhD journey in Medieval Studies. We were fast friends bonding over nerdy board games, a shared love of strange 80s movies featuring rock stars, and many shared karaoke Saturday nights at local bar Corleone's. More importantly, we supported one another through the academic pressures of graduate school and the general difficulties of life in our twenties. By the summer of 2014 we were dating. And nothing has felt more right. Over the course of nearly four wonderful years we fell in love and came to feel it impossible to imagine a life without one another. In the spring of 2018 we took a trip to Ireland together and on March 10th, 2018, Patrick proposed in Merrion Square Park in Dublin. Katie happily accepted. Now, we're planning our lives together and hope to celebrate our marriage with you on July 27th, 2019!
