Question

Are there hotel room blocks for guests?

Answer

Yes, information on available hotel blocks can be found on the "Travel & Hotel" page of our website. If you're encountering a lack of availability when trying to book through one of our hotel blocks, please email jtanwedding@gmail.com so we can have the hotels increase them.

Can I bring kids?

Answer

With the exception of our wedding party, this is an adults only event. Consider it date night out! ;)

What's the attire / dress code?

Answer

Attire is Semi-Formal. This means that tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.

How early can we arrive?

Answer

5:45ish is the earliest we recommend. There is standing room (note: no seating) in a lobby area on the second floor just outside the venue doors, where you are welcome to wait until the doors open. If you arrive considerably earlier than 5:45pm, we encourage you to stroll the neighborhood. There are plenty of coffee shops, restaurants, and bars nearby!

Is there parking available?

Answer

There is no parking lot/garage at the venue, however, there is a 24-hour parking garage called MPG Parking located at 21 India Street. For those staying at a hotel, we recommend leaving your car there and doing the New York thing: walking, taxi-/uber-ing, or taking public transit to and from the venue.

Where is everything happening?

Answer

This is a one-stop-shop wedding. Everything will take place at Greenpoint Loft (see the "Travel" tab for more details). Please note that cocktail hour will occur in an indoor/outdoor space. (Fingers crossed for pleasant weather!)

Can we take pics?!

Answer

There will be a brief opportunity at the top of the ceremony to whip out your phones and take pics. Then, we will ask guests to put their phones away for the rest of the ceremony to let our lovely photographer and videographer do their thing. The rest of the evening is fair game! We promise to send you a link to the wedding photos, too. :)

Will we be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The majority of the wedding will take place indoors. The cocktail hour will take place in an indoor/outdoor space, however. Fingers crossed for pleasant weather!

Is the venue accessible?

Answer

The building entrance is accessible and there is an elevator to transport guests to the 2nd floor, where the venue is located. The mezzanine area of venue is accessible by stairs only. However, this space will only be used during cocktail hour and the main bar is located on the main level. So, any guests not able or interested in taking the stairs can simply remain on the main level by the bar during cocktail hour.

What food will be served?

Answer

We'll be serving passed hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by a substantial buffet dinner and dessert. While there will be options available for those with dietary restrictions, don't worry - we are NOT forcing you all to dine gluten- and dairy-free like us. You're welcome. ;)

How late can we party?

Answer

Our wedding will officially conclude at 12:00am, so party like a rockstar. There are also plenty of local restaurants and bars in the neighborhood should you choose to after party.
