While Nora and Tim’s love story began in earnest during the winter of 2017 in Chicago, it technically starts with a few missed connections years earlier. Despite photographic evidence of Nora attending parties in Tim’s dorm room while visiting her close friend at the University of Notre Dame, the couple can’t recall meeting each other back then. The next time they crossed paths in the summer of 2015 at Hemingway’s Pub in Pittsburgh, Tim clearly remembers developing a crush on Nora. Unfortunately, this memory escapes Nora. A few years later, Nora and Tim’s relationship blossomed when they “met” as new residents of Chicago who shared the same hometown and a love of watching Steelers games at Durkins on Diversey Ave. They shared their first kiss at Chicago’s famous blues club Kingston Mines, and the rest was history. The long and winding road of their relationship has taken them through a move to Washington, DC during a pandemic, two graduate degrees, and even a brief period of living on different coasts of the United States. By wedding day, they will have been together for over seven years. Nora and Tim currently live together in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. They cannot wait to get married in the company of so many loved ones back home in Pittsburgh.
To Nora, the afternoon of April 29, 2023 was supposed to consist of a casual get together in Chicago with Tim’s bandmates from business school. Tim told Nora that he wanted to stop by a store in Old Town first and that they would walk to the party from there. The seemingly mundane walk took them past Nora’s first apartment in Chicago, where they had shared so many fond memories during the early days of their relationship. As they reminisced about that happy time in life, Tim dropped to one knee. With a ring on Nora’s finger, they returned to Sparrow, where they had their first date more than six years prior. They are so grateful that their families and so many close friends celebrated their engagement with them that night.
