We know safety is at the forefront of your mind, and we want to safeguard your wellbeing as well as our own. Parley Lake Winery was chosen as our venue because of their lovely outdoor environment as well as their wonderfully experienced staff, who have worked year-round to tirelessly transform their operations in accordance with new restrictions. Their ability to keep their guests safe, together with our cautious approach towards planning our wedding, have guided us into creating what we feel will be an amazing day – despite the limitations of social distancing. We want you to be able to relax and enjoy yourself, in a safe environment of under 50 people. As our current plan reflects a worst-case scenario in terms of vaccine availability, we are confident that any eventual changes will be favorable, and we can confidently go ahead with our date in June. We'll of course be keeping you updated, in accordance with the most recent guidelines available to us.
We're so glad you asked. As is the case with any gathering of people, there is no guarantee of a risk-free event. After serious consideration of that fact, we decided to proceed with planning a wedding that goes above and beyond local, state, and national health orders. Using the latest guidance, we have decided on a number of safety requirements that we want to be clear on. Firstly, we will ask that our guests all stay within their quarantine bubbles during the 14 days prior to our wedding. Anyone who will have tested positive or had known exposure to COVID-19 prior to our wedding will be kindly asked to stay home (unless they can demonstrate to us their vaccination record). We realize many of our guests will be travelling to reach Waconia, which is why we have arranged for pods sitting 12 feet apart in our seating arrangements. Our ceremony will be unconventional, and as such will require no close contact. We are planning on masking, except while in pods. More specific info soon!
Together with the staff at Parley Lake Winery, we have full confidence in the details of the day – whether that be wining, dining, or running to the restroom. We think you'll be pleasantly surprised to hear how we've planned the use of our site's amenities. For starters, we have chosen an unconventional, though proven dining option: a food truck! This fun, family-friendly style of cuisine will surely cater to even the most discerning of palates, while offering a safe, convenient and contactless way to feed our guests. Meals will be served with disposable plates and utensils. As for drinks, the winery will make use of their staffed outdoor bar to serve our guests in a similar fashion. Finally, when it's time to head to the restroom, the staff at Parley Lake Winery have also got you covered. In years past, the only on-site facilities have consisted of backyard port-a-potties. The indoor restrooms – constructed in 2020 – will be vigorously and regularly sanitized for our guests.
