Not everyone knows this, but our story started a long time ago. Back in 2005, when Mike and I were both 7th graders at Thomas Middle School, Ashton played the middle man and happened to "set us up" because she knew Mike as Pepé from Spanish class. We started dating (or whatever you call middle school romance) and ended up hitting it off. We dated for about a year before I broke things off, though this didn't last long since we ended up dating again in 8th grade. We parted ways again as we made our way into high school and college. During the summer of 2014 we reconnected, and hit it off...again :) The rest is history!

One of our favorite things to do together is to play golf. We had just gotten a membership to Stonehenge Golf Club in Barrington this past year, and as soon as spring rolled around we were constantly checking the weather to see when we could get out for a round. Mike asked if I wanted to play that Saturday, and with the forecast looking beautiful I couldn't pass it up! The day came and though it was sunny, the ground was still wet from all of the rain, so we couldn't take a cart like we typically would. Instead, we pushed carts and only got to talk at the tee boxes and on the greens (this ended up working in his favor). After a few hours, we finally made it to the 18th hole. Mike sunk his putt quickly, leaving me with a ten-footer. Waiting patiently, he watched me completely blow it past the hole for another ten-footer. I took a deep breath and managed to get it on the second try. While I went to take my ball out of the cup, Mike got down on one knee and I said "yes!"
