It was the last summer of college. Rebecca's little sister in her sorority, Molly, told her about a sleepaway camp in North Carolina that needed counselors and sounded like fun. Rebecca loved working with children and decided to try something different this summer. So, she packed her bags and took a roadtrip from Alpharetta, Georgia, to Greensboro, North Carolina, where she would end up meeting the man she would marry. On move-in day, all of the counselors began unpacking and getting to know each other. At one point that afternoon, Rebecca ended up talking with a red-headed guy from New Jersey. The conversation was easy and comfortable, and Rebecca immediately felt some excitement about this guy. Spoiler alert, it was Ben. As time went on, Rebecca and Ben seemed to like each other more and more. But, Rebecca was from Georgia, and Ben was from New Jersey. Neither one wanted to dive into a long-distance relationship, but they really liked spending time together, so they decided to enjoy the summer together and then go their separate ways when it was time to go home. The last day of camp was incredibly emotional. Ben and Rebecca thought this would be the last time they would see each other. Eventually, Rebecca began to drive home to Georgia, and Ben went to the airport to fly up to New Jersey. On the car ride home, Rebecca got a text from Ben, and from there on, the two of them were in contact nearly every day. After a while, they began to visit each other and became more and more serious. On February 27, 2016, they decided to officially date each other and continued dating each other over long-distance until Rebecca became a Jersey girl in August 2017. Ben and Rebecca could finally date in the same vicinity, and the relationship has continued to grow more and more.

It seemed like a normal beach trip. Ben and Rebecca decided to spend the weekend in Seaside Heights with Ben’s cousins Yitzi and Tamara, along with their spouses, Galia and Lior. Throughout their relationship, Ben and Rebecca have gone to Seaside Heights numerous times. The beach has become quite sentimental and special to the couple. Rebecca rode in the car with Tamara and Galia, and Ben drove with Yitzi and Lior to Island Beach State Park. On the ride to the beach, Rebecca told Tamara and Galia about how she caught the bouquet at a wedding she attended a few weeks before this beach trip. Tamara and Galia sounded excited, and the conversation eventually evolved into other topics. The guys got to the beach a few minutes before the girls did, so Yitzi helped the girls find a place to park and then walked Rebecca, Tamara, and Galia to a spot on the beach where Ben and Lior were standing and taking pictures. At one point, everyone but Ben and Rebecca walked further down the beach. Ben then turned to Rebecca, and the two began talking about how pretty the beach was. Then, Ben said he had a question to ask and leaned down on one knee. When he pulled out an engagement ring, Rebecca screamed with excitement and shock and threw her purse on the ground. She said yes and gave Ben a massive hug. Yitzi, Galia, Tamara, and Lior then began clapping and gave Rebecca red roses. Rebecca could not stop crying and jumping up and down with excitement. Ben then explained how the group was going to Atlantic City this evening to continue the celebration. Once the group got to Atlantic City, they got dinner, went dancing, and explored the boardwalk. It was truly an amazing weekend.
