As we all know, someone knows someone in the Indian community. It was through these connections that Nirali and Kunal were introduced. It was during the peak of COVID, Kunal was a resident in Arizona, and Nirali was working in North Carolina. Kunal made the first move and texted Nirali back in 2020. The pandemic limited travel, so they got to know each other via texts, phone calls, and FaceTime before they were finally able to meet in person. They had their first date in the city of Houston...Thai food of course! From there they continued to travel and explore new cities including San Antonio and Washington DC, and now they're getting married!

It was Thanksgiving day and Kunal was on call. Nirali and Kunal had planned a relaxing day filled with watching movies and listening to their favorite Bollywood hits while baking brownies to take to Thanksgiving dinner later that evening. Little did Nirali know, Kunal had other plans in mind! As the brownies were baking, Kunal "randomly" comes up with the idea of going to Forest Park before dinner. Nirali, who's typically a go-with-the-flow type of girl, was not keen on going to the park on a chilly St. Louis afternoon, especially when they were going to be dressed up for dinner. Rather, she suggested going the next day when they could be bundled up and have more time to explore. It took a little effort, but eventually Kunal convinced Nirali to go. They drove up to the beautiful Forest Park. It was a crisp, sunny afternoon. Many families were out and about before their Thanksgiving feast. Kunal was trying to get Nirali to a specific part of the park in time, so he parked the car in a lot closest to it--which just so happened to be at the top of a huge hill! He gets her to go down the hill in her heels, and they walked along the Emerson Grand Basin loop. The scenery reminiscent of one of their favorite trips to DC, where they walked along the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Halfway around the loop, Kunal stops Nirali to get a picture. While taking photos, Kunal gets down on one knee and pops the question!
